Official Reveal Trailer.
It’s finally time to share some of the work I did for Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream!
-
For this post, I’m focusing on the Cinematic Character work I created for our cutscenes. I handled a full, end-to-end pipeline for several of the characters, from photogrammetry processing in Metashape (in parallel with a sculpting some assets from scratch in ZBrush) to low-poly creation in Maya/Blender, UVs, and final texturing.
-
I wasn’t involved in the creation of Alva, but for Viktor Lindh, Mayor Jonas, and Sebastian, I handled everything from beginning to end.
The faces were first sculpted in ZBrush, then conformed to a MetaHuman topology and baked with custom normals to push the realism even further. In the last image, you can see a glimpse of the custom pipeline I built for blending veins and wrinkle maps with existing MetaHuman facial animations, adding subtle but powerful emotional depth when characters became angry, injured, or strained.
